Frederikshavn, Denmrk

Frederikshavn is a Danish town on the northeast coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Its name translates to "Frederik's harbour". It was originally named Fladstrand. I went there from gothenburg in sweden by stenaline cruise, and before October one-day return cruise is free for student. From my experience one day is enough to have a glance of most attractions in Frederikshavn, the finest attractions locate in Bangsbo area, which is 3 or 4 km away from port, but there is no need to worry about transportation, the local hotels provide free bicycles for visitor. So you will get a city map in cruise or tourism office near central, and follow the suggested bicycle route, it's such a  sweet service lol.
Another suggestion is that you'd better visit there in weekday  instead of weekend, because most of shops and museums would be closed in weekend.

During weekend, there is few people in the central, and most shops, even restaurant are closed. Hut you can enjoy empty streets with friends
We got the bicycles from Scandic hotel near port, the receptor only required me to write down mobile number and personal number.so it's totally free for all. Btw it is a little bit tried to ride it, because in Bangsbo area, there is a long mountain road :( , it took us 4 hours for return.

If there was no sea, it was not harbor.

When you ride to Bangsbo, you would went along the sea coast.

Møllehuset
Half timbered building from 1885. Paintings and verses on the walls in one of the rooms. Now a restaurant. It's best time to get there at noon.

Bangsbo is pearl of Frederikshavn, forest and mountain surround the old buildings and relics. It's perfect place for hiking, if your time is available.

Bangsbo manor and musem, the Museum is situated on the Bangsbo Manor, in the beautiful Bangsbo area, surrounded by moat, Botanical Garden, Animal Park, natural playground and Boolsen's Stonegarden. It's free to visit manor except museum.

 Autumn already came

Pikkerbakken is a great place to overlook the whole town

I prefer to introduce the most interesting place in Frederikshavn. Bangsbo Fort which was built by the Germans  during the Second World War, lies just south of Pikkerbakken. The area is about 80 meters above sea level, and the canons themselves are around 70 meters above sea level. There is a fantastic view over Frederikshavn and the Kattegat from the Fort.

 anti-air force

The used roadblock, I seems image what's happened in 1940s

Jerry's restaurant, great american taste in central

 Fiskerklyngen.
The oldest part of Frederikshavn. A cluster of fishermen's cottages. Original descend from 1568.

Typical North Jutland character with yellow washed walls and red tile roofs with whitewash cement between the stones. Cobblets. streets and alleys.
